Sunday Eats + Puppy Love!

On Saturday morning, I had to run to the mall to find something to wear to a friend’s birthday lunch at J. Alexander’s but I had decided to stop at Jamba Juice to grab an acai bowl first. I’m not a huge fan of Jamba but it’s an easy stop because it’s a five minute walk from where I live. I ordered the Acai Primo Bowl which is supposed to be a frozen blend of acai juice, soymilk, blueberries, strawberries, and bananas topped with organic granola, fresh bananas, fresh blueberries, coconut, and a drizzle of honey. I’m not sure what I really ended up getting – it was a bowl of warm juice with two pieces of banana and some sad blueberries on top (definitely not picture worthy!). It was horrible but I was still craving a quality acai bowl! I posted on Facebook asking for some suggestions and on Sunday morning… I woke up on a mission and headed towards Raw Juce!

Raw Juce had been suggested to me by an old friend of mine and they have several locations. I live in Wellington, so I decided to go to their Palm Beach Gardens location – about a 40 minute drive. Robbie decided to tag along too and he drove so I would be able to eat my bowl on our way back 🙂 I looked up their menu on the ride… my friend had recommended the Black Magic Acai Bowl. That bowl is made of banana, mango, acai, almond mylk, protein powder, and activated charcoal blended together and topped with banana, chia seeds, flax & hemp granola, coconut flakes, blueberry, and raw honey. She did warn me that it’s not for everybody but she loves it! I decided to try the Cacao Protein Crunch Acai Bowl!

Isn’t it pretty?! I actually googled how to pronounce “cacao” on my way there, ha! This bowl was made of banana, mango, almond mylk, Vega Sport protein, cacao, and raw honey blended together and topped with flax & hemp granola, chopped almonds, hemp seeds, strawberries, bananas, blueberries, raw cacao nibs, and raw honey. It tasted like a dessert!

While I was there, I also picked up these two juices. They were both amazing! I only like fresh juice – I don’t buy any from the grocery store, even the “cold pressed” ones. These were both very fresh! I was hesitant to buy the Raw Sangria because “beet” was the first ingredient listed, but all of the fresh fruit juices overpowered the beet taste (which was good for me!). According to the bottles, the Raw Sangria is rich in antioxidants, helps relieve stress, helps boost energy, and helps reduce blood pressure. I knew I was going to love the #PWP and I was right! The #PWP supports healthy immune function, aids in hydration, and helps boost energy. I would definitely buy both of them again but I’m dying to try some of their other flavors, such as the Tasty AF and the Thirst Quencher.

When I got home, I realized I had to run over to Whole Foods to get Goku some Spring Mix lettuce (he’s one picky tortoise). I ran over to the mall to pick up a Chicken California sandwich from Charley’s, dropped it off at home for Robbie, and then headed to Whole Foods. While I was there, I decided to buy a slice of their pizza to try. It was really good! I was surprised…. I would have never though they would have had good pizza. A healthy grocery store would never be my first pick to get a slice of pizza from but… never say never because it was thin, crispy, and delicious! I also picked up some coconut pineapple fair trade lip balm made by Alaffia. I’m literally chronically dehydrated no matter what I do, so lip balm is one of my must haves. I stopped at a few more stores before heading home.

I spent the rest of my Sunday afternoon hanging out with my Moose! I sat on the porch and read It by Stephen King for awhile but he kept jumping up and knocking the book out of my hands. I was looking for he book in Barnes and Noble last year but they never had it, so I sort of forgot about it until recently. They have a million copies now that the new movie is coming out soon. Robbie doesn’t want to see it with me but I’m dying to see it anyway!

He always looks so concerned…. he was more concerned with my juice that he wasn’t allowed to have!

I call him my shadow doodle because he follows me around everywhere! We’re constantly tripping over each other… but I wouldn’t have it any other way! He’s the best. We spent the rest of the day watching season 1 of Roseanne, meal prepping my lunch for the week, and just generally relaxing… the best way to end a Sunday!
